Kenmore Air ticket link to Alaska Airlines now operational

PORT ANGELES — Travelers can now go online for one-stop ticketing at www.alaskaair.com for flights between Port Angeles and more than 90 destinations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico served by Alaska Airlines and its regional airline, Horizon Air.

The implementation of joint online booking is the final phase of a frequent-flier and ticketing partnership between Alaska and Kenmore Air, which flies between Port Angeles and Seattle.

Said Craig O’Neill, Kenmore’s director of marketing:

“Booking air travel to or from the Peninsula is now a seamless process through Alaska Airlines’ acclaimed Web site.

“The inconvenience of having to make reservations with two different airlines and manually coordinate schedules is a thing of the past.

“An additional benefit of booking a joint itinerary through Alaska Airlines is that fully coordinated customer service is guaranteed in the event of delays or other travel irregularities.”

Andrew Otterness, Kenmore’s director of customer service added:

“Once a customer has booked a Kenmore Air/Alaska Airlines itinerary through www.alaskaair.com, they are ‘in the system.’

“Any issue that might arise for such a passenger will be resolved quickly and more efficiently than if a passenger had booked separately with each airline.”

O’Neill said that since online booking of joint itineraries was activated, passengers have made connections between Port Angeles and numerous other cities served by Alaska and Horizon — including Anchorage, Boise, Burbank, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Kelowna, Kenai, Ketchikan, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Miami, Missoula, Ontario, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Spokane, Vancouver and Wenatchee.

Kenmore Air provides the only regularly scheduled flights between Seattle’s Boeing Field and Port Angeles with nine-passenger Cessna aircraft.

Using a round-trip ticket generated at www.alaskaair.com, a traveler would fly on Kenmore from Port Angeles into Boeing Field.

The traveler would take the free Kenmore shuttle from Boeing to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and then, at Sea-Tac, board an Alaska or Horizon flight to their final destination.

After returning to Sea-Tac on Alaska or Horizon, the traveler would take the free shuttle to Boeing Field and then fly Kenmore back to Port Angeles.

Security screening and baggage checking for outbound flights on Alaska and Horizon or other airlines will continue to be done at Sea-Tac.

“Encouragingly for us,” said O’Neill, “the majority of our online bookings to date through www.alaskaair.com have been passengers brand new to our airline.

“This validates our belief that the interline partnership with Alaska Airlines will give greater national visibility to the possibility of traveling to the Peninsula by air.

“At the same time, we’re looking forward to our loyal local clientele discovering the convenience of one-stop online shopping when they need to travel to an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air city.”

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can also earn and redeem frequent flier miles on either airline.

Mileage Plan members earn 250 miles for every flight between Port Angeles and Seattle.

Ten thousand miles can be redeemed for a free round-trip on the route.
