JOYCE — One driver was killed and another seriously injured when two log trucks crashed head-on Tuesday on state Highway 112 about four miles west of Joyce.
Glen Tyrrell, public information officer for the Washington State Patrol, identified Loren R. Pearson, 49, of Forks as the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.
He identified the other driver as Alvin O. Bertelson, 53, of Port Angeles.
Bertelson was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was reported in serious condition by a nursing supervisor Tuesday night.
Bertelson’s wife, Terri, said her husband suffered a head injury and lacerations in the crash.
