JOYCE: House roof fire

Firefighters were called to a report of a roof fire on state Route 112 Monday evening.

The fire was reported at 7 p.m. at a house at 52433 Route 112, approximately two miles east of Joyce. The address is listed as Valhalla Video.

Fire District No. 4 officials in Joyce refused to comment on the blaze.

But a neighbor said Chris Hedin lives in the home, which is located near the video store. A passing motorist alerted Hedin to the fire.

Joyce firefighters were forced to call for assistance from the Dry Creek fire station due to a lack of oxygen canisters.

A Clallam County Sheriff’s Department deputy was called to the scene to assist with crowd control.
