Longtime Crescent School Principal Doug Kubalek was officially named the district’s new superintendent Tuesday night.
The five-member Crescent School Board unanimously approved a two-year contract for Kubalek which begins today and ends in 2006. It pays him $87,794 annually.
Kubalek, 58, a 17-year veteran of the Crescent district, has been interim superintendent since the June 30 retirement of Rich Wilson, who left the post after 18 years.
Kubalek will continue his principal duties and assume the additional responsibilities of running the Joyce-based school district.
The restructuring process also calls for three other district employees to be given more duties.
