Jefferson: Commissioners could make county administrator job offer today

Jefferson County commissioners could be ready as early as this afternoon to make an offer to one of the four finalists for the top administrative position in the county’s government.

Commissioners have scheduled a meeting at 3 p.m. in the basement of the courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

The commissioners, according to Chairman Glen Huntingford, will discuss the candidates’ qualifications during an executive session. Any decision to offer the position would have to be made in public.

The four finalists are John Fischbach, Nancy McDaniel, Daniel Pence and Allen Sartin.

McDaniel, a Chimacum native who returned to East Jefferson County after retiring from the U.S. Air Force, and Sartin, currently the county’s assistant administrator and central services director, were interviewed by commissioners and staff members on Monday.

Fischbach, city manager of Fort Collins, Colo., and Pence, city manager of Kemmerer, Wyo., made their appearances Tuesday.
