BLYN — His creations loom high over Sequim Bay, taking many a traveler’s breath away.
It’s thrilling, isn’t it, to be Dale Faulstich, maker of the 22 totem poles facing this stretch of U.S. Highway 101?
Actually no, Faulstich doesn’t bask in their glory.
By the time these poles are lifted into their places, his mind is back on the naked red cedar logs inside the House of Myths, aka the carving shed at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Center.
“To me, the challenge is getting there from here. The process of creating is what’s important,” Faulstich said.
The artist will offer insight into that process this Friday morning with a totem-pole tour of the Blyn basin.
