SEQUIM — A brand-new “Daring, Dastardly & Definitely Different” art show and a highly irreverent costume party will converge this Friday evening at the Local Artists Resource Center, aka LARC gallery, where admission is free.
LARC’s Halloween bash and show opening will go from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with refreshments and people’s choice voting for art on display at the gallery, 425 E. Washington St.
At this party, LARC will bestow door prizes for the best “famous, historical artist” costume, the best “hysterical artist” getup and the best non-art-related costume.
Free T-shirts will go to the best performing group for a rendition of “Monster Mash.”
“This event kicks off our second annual 4-D show,” LARC spokeswoman Shirley Mercer said of “Daring, Dastardly & Definitely Different,” an exhibition open to artists working in all media.
Visitors can vote for their favorite works starting Friday. Balloting will continue until Nov. 7, when the winner will be announced at the gallery during Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk.
That artist will receive three months free in the LARC gallery as his or her prize.
