GOP Lincoln Day lunch set for Saturday

Peninsula Daily News

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Republicans plan the annual Lincoln Day luncheon Saturday.

The luncheon will begin at 11 a.m. with a social hour and silent auction at the Port Townsend Elks Club, 555 Otto St.

The introduction of guests will begin at noon. Lunch and speeches will follow.

Tickets are $40 per person and $75 for a couple. They will be available at the door.

The guest speaker will be Sen. Michael Baumgartner, R-Spokane, who is campaigning to be the Republican nominee to run against Sen. Maria Cantwell, a two-term Democrat from Mountlake Terrace who has held the office since 2000.

Other guests will include Jesse Young of Gig Harbor, a Republican candidate for U. S. Congress, running in the 6th Congressional District — which includes the North Olympic Peninsula — for the seat held by Democrat Norm Dicks of Belfair since 1976.

Fredi Simpson and Jeff Kent, representatives to the Republican National Committee, also will be guests at the luncheon.

Clallam County Republicans held their Lincoln Day event earlier this month.

For more information about the Jefferson County Lincoln Day luncheon, phone Ron Gregory, chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Central Committee, at 360-343-4041 or visit the party’s website at www.JeffGOP.com.
