FORKS – Two Quillayute Valley School District leaders will be taking their leave after work on Friday.
Forks High School and Middle School Principal Ray Marshall will leave for Wasilla, Alaska, after a decade of teaching and administrating in the district.
Also leaving the district is Superintendent Frank Walter, who is moving closer to his fiancee in Pierce County.
In Wasilla, Marshall will head up Iditarod Elementary School as the principal.
Going from a high school to an elementary school will be a welcome change, Marshall said.
“It will be a good move for my family,” he said.
“One thing about working at the high school level is it requires working 12- or 16-hour days with all of the athletic and extracurricular activities.
“I have a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old, and with all of the stuff going on, it is a lot of time away from them.”
