Forks: Festival of Trees raises $8,000

FORKS — The eighth annual Festival of Trees auction Sunday raised more than $8,000, with all the money going to community projects and scholarships sponsored by the Soroptimist International of the Rain Forest.

The festival at the Bank of America auctioned decorated trees, wreaths and table centerpieces donated by merchants, Olympic Correction Center, teachers, artists and private citizens.

The festival judges were Jeanette Gilmore and Flora Finley, Farwest Art League.

Auctioneers were Dave Robinson and Marcia Bingham.

Al Monroe provided the sound system. Carl Kitzmiller, Sol Duc Floral, fireproofed the trees.

The Congregational Church Bell Ringers and Forks Community Orchestra provided music. Venture Club members were also at the event.
