FORKS — The City Council will hold a special meeting to discuss last week’s abrupt resignation of Police Chief Doug Price at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the City Hall council chambers.
The council received Price’s letter of resignation Sept. 26 just minutes before the regular council meeting.
Price, 54, a retired State Patrol detective sergeant, was selected from a pool of 13 applicants and joined the department in February.
He came into the job already knowing the area, having served at the State Patrol station in Forks from 1993 to 1995.
When Price took the reins about eight months ago, the police chief position had been open for a year since Mayor Bryon Monohon fired Police Chief Mike Powell in January 2010.
