Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Jefferson County commissioners will not meet.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss possible uses of artificial intelligence to support county operations during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Monday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The hybrid meetings are in the county commissioners meeting room in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Agenda items include:

• Several resolutions approving budget revisions and supplemental appropriations as well as establishing a new department in the general fund for RECOMPETE expenditures.

• Calls for public hearings on Tuesday, Feb. 13, regarding a proposed ordinance requiring permits to place recreation park trailers and regarding proposed changes to the Park, Fair and Facilities Department’s fee schedule.

• A grant agreement with the state Recreational Conservation Office for $90,255 for various projects within the county.

• Proposed changes to the bylaws of the Clallam County Parks Advisory Board.

• A resolution creating a county roads project and a call for bids for a repaving contract on Carlsborg Road.

• A resolution to authorize Sheriff Brian King to sign closing documents related to the sale of real estate at 4308/4312 Nicholas Road.

• A grant agreement with the state Parks and Recreation for $13,509 to enhance recreational boating enforcement and education.

• A call for a public hearing to consider a proposal to declare certain county property as surplus.

• A resolution appointing Alexander Sidles as county hearing examiner; commissioners will also consider the terms of the contract with Sidles.

• A request from the Housing Solution Committee for approval of the application form to be used when applying for 2024 1406/1590 funds.

• A pre-grant application for a Coordinating Low-Income Housing Planning grant in cooperation with the Serenity House.

• An update on the Small Business Development Center from SharonAnn Hamilton.

• A review and discussion of the 2024 legislative session.

• A discussion of the county’s national legislative priorities for Commissioner Ozias to present at the National Association of Counties’ legislative conference in February.

• An overview of American Rescue Plan Act expenditures for the fourth quarter of 2023.

• Several resolutions appointing new members to various volunteer boards and commissions.
