DUNGENESS — A submerged vehicle found in a pond Saturday afternoon is prompting an investigation by Clallam County sheriff’s deputies.
The 1981 Honda Civic was found by Eddie Bittick, 11, and Colton Jenkins, 12, at approximately 3:40 p.m.
The boys were playing near the pond when they noticed a discolored area and notified authorities, Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Kelly said at the scene.
The submerged vehicle was in about eight feet of water in the one-acre pond off Fasola Road, west of Towne Road.
The sheriff’s department requested search and rescue team divers to investigate the find and a tow truck to remove the vehicle.
