PORT ANGELES — Developer Jerry Ward has added a conference facility and performing arts center to his plans for a $122-plus million timeshare condominium resort on property at the former Rayonier mill.
Ward has proposed building a 1,600-seat performing arts center with a 16,000-square-foot conference center on the 75-acre resort site he plans to buy from Rayonier.
Ward said Thursday he has looked at about 600 similar facilities around the United States.
The centers would cost about $15 million to build, he said.
“That’ll fit Port Angeles perfectly,” said Ward. The performing arts center and conference center would tie in with the 322-unit, seven-story timeshare condominium project and not compete with city and Clallam County lodging establishments, he said.
