LAKE SUTHERLAND — Darren J. Biddle loved his pet parrot, Telly, so much that he may have sacrificed his life to save the bird last week.
“He would have rather tried to save his animal than save his life,” his mother, Keani Kruger of Brea, Calif., said Friday. “That’s just the type of person he is.”
Neither Biddle, 39, nor the parrot have been seen since Biddle’s live-in girlfriend reported him missing from their Rustic Lane home at Lake Sutherland early last Wednesday.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Department conducted visual searches of the lake for Biddle’s body but has suspended its operations until more clues arise, Undersheriff Joe Martin said Tuesday.
The lake is too murky to conduct underwater searches, Martin said.
