PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center isn’t the only health care provider that could ride to the rescue of Virginia Mason patients.
The Lower Elwha Klallam Health Clinic is talking with some Virginia Mason doctors about adding them to its staff.
The tribe is finishing a fourfold expansion of its facilities at 243511 W. U.S. Highway 101. It soon will employ two full-time doctors. a part-time physician and a nurse practitioner.
It could hire as many as four more physicians, said Cecile Greenway, tribal health and social services director, who attended Saturday’s forum at Olympic Medical Center on the Virginia Mason crisis.
“We’re definitely talking to people,” she said.
“The tribe expects to be a player.”
