Clallam libraries to host Yoga Storytime

Yoga Storytimes aiming to build early literacy and healthy bodies at the same time, are planned this week at three Clallam County libraries.

The sessions for young children and their caretakers will be at North Olympic Library System branches during the next week.

On Thursday, the Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave., will provide Yoga Storytime at 10:30 a.m., and another session will be held at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., at 2 p.m.

The next day on Jan. 4, the Forks Library at 171 S. Forks Ave., will host Yoga Storytime 10:30 a.m.

The interactive storytimes will feature stories, songs, yoga poses and breathing exercises for children and their caregivers.

No yoga experience is necessary.

Activities such as talking, reading, playing, and singing play an important role in early childhood development, according to the librarians.
