Clallam filing week — for 68 elected positions — is approaching

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County residents seeking to run for 68 positions up for election Nov. 5 have multiple ways to file for candidacy beginning next week.

A list of the positions is at tinyurl.com/PDN-ElectPositions.

The primary is Aug. 6.

The positions include 15 seats on the Charter Review Commission.

Prospective candidates may file online at www.clallam.net/elections.

Online filing begins at 9 a.m. Monday, May 13 and ends at 4 p.m. Friday, May 17.

In-person filing is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that week at the Clallam County Auditor’s Office at the county courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles.

Mailed declarations of candidacy must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 4:30 p.m. May 17.

The forms can be downloaded from www.clallam.net/elections.

Candidate filing fees, required for 12 positions that pay annual salaries, are due by 4:30 p.m. May 17.

Online filers can use Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Payments made in-person or by mail must be by cash or check.
