PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Superior Court has delayed all jury trials beginning today until after Sept. 7.
The emergency order issued by Judge Brent Basden on Tuesday cites the recent upswing in the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Clallam County over the last seven days.
Parties to criminal trials affected by the order are to appear in court on the Thursday prior to their scheduled date to reset the trial, the order said.
Those not in custody will appear at 1 p.m. and those in custody will be in court at 3 p.m.
Parties to civil trials are to present an agreed order with a new trial date or schedule a trial on the trial setting calendar.
