PORT ANGELES — A 49-year-old Sequim man was charged Thursday with two counts of witness intimidation and one count of bribing a witness for allegedly trying to influence testimony in his pending drug case.
Thomas A. Reina was charged in June 2011 with two counts of delivery of Oxycodone as a result of an Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation.
OPNET officials alleged that Reina and a co-defendant, Chanlyn Brown, sold three 80-milligram Oxycodone pills to an undercover informant for $480 in March 2011 and four of the same pills for $600 in April 2011.
The new charges were added after Brown, who pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Reina, told her probation officer she was receiving threats from Reina and that he offered her $10,000 not to testify, according to the amended certification for probable cause.
Defense attorney Loren Oakley entered a not-guilty plea to the new charges on Reina’s behalf Thursday in Clallam County Superior Court.
Reina’s trial will be reset May 20.
In another OPNET case, Patricia D. Price, 31, of Joyce was charged April 25 with two counts of delivery of methamphetamine for allegedly selling the drug to an undercover informant in April and May of 2012.
The sales amounted to $300.
Price was summoned to appear in Superior Court May 17.
