Celebrations set for retiring Port Angeles school staff

PORT ANGELES — The public is invited to parties marking the retirements of several Port Angeles School District staff members.

They are:

■ Monday, June 2 — Reception for Superintendent Jane Pryne, who is retiring June 30 after five years leading the district, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, 905 W. Ninth St.

■ Tuesday, June 3 — Paraeducator Jan Descala’s retirement party, 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Stevens Middle School library media center, 1139 W. 14th St.

■ Wednesday, June 4 — Reception for reading teacher Gloria Mandery, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Hamilton Elementary School library, 1822 W. Seventh St.

■ Thursday, June 5 — Retirement party for custodian Paul Knowles, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Franklin Elementary School library, 2505 S. Washington St.

■ Monday, June 9 — Retirement reception for Mike Frick, machine technology teacher at Port Angeles High School, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center.

■ Tuesday, June 10 — Retirement party for Maria White, special education teacher, and JoAnn Lewis, paraeducator, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Roosevelt Elementary School library, 106 Monroe Road.

■ Wednesday, June 11 — Retirement party for Roni Prince, kindergarten teacher, who has worked 37 years as an educator, Jefferson Elementary School library, 218 E. 12th St.
