PORT TOWNSEND — Sen. Maria Cantwell will address a “get out the vote” rally at 3:30 p.m. Saturday outside 150 Hudson St.
Cantwell, D-Mountlake Terrace, is expected to speak on behalf of local and statewide Democratic candidates, including her colleague Sen. Patty Murray, D-Bothell, who is in what has been described as a close race against Republican Dino Rossi of Sammamish, who former state senator and two-time unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate.
Cantwell’s address, which was announced today, will precede a canvassing effort where party members will conduct door-to-door campaign calls throughout East Jefferson County, said Matt Sircely, county Democratic party chairman.
Cantwell will visit four other locations on Saturday but Port Townsend is the only stop on the North Olympic Peninsula.
