Candidate forums to be presented next week

PORT ANGELES — The League of Women Voters of Clallam County and the North Olympic Library System will sponsor an online forum featuring candidates for two director seats the Port Angeles School District board at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Candidates who have confirmed their attendance include Kim Butler, Nancy Hamilton, Mary Hebert and Sarah Methner.

The forum is the first of three scheduled during the run to the August primary election.

Questions for the candidates may be emailed to info@lwvcla.org at least three days prior to each forum.

The league states that, “concise, unbiased questions directly related to the job, its policies and the leadership skills required will be given priority and similar questions will be combined.”

Questions will not be released to any candidates in advance of the forums, the league said.

The second forum, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, will feature Port Angeles City Council candidates Ralph Davison, Kate Dexter, Mimi Dvorak, Gilbert Hall, LaTrisha Suggs and James Taylor.

The final forum, set for 5:30 p.m. July 10, will feature candidates for commissioner seats on Clallam County Hospital District No. 2. The confirmed participants are Carleen Benson, Tara Coffin, Laurie Force, Mic Sager and Penney Sanders.
