SEQUIM — Peninsula Nurseries, 1060 Sequim-Dungeness Way, will host an Olympic Orchard Society pruning workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The class, conducted by society member Gordon Clark of Clark Horticultural, is free and open to the public.
Following the workshop, participants will adjourn to the home of Tom Sutton, 3179 Old Olympic Highway, for an orchard pruning demonstration.

PORT ANGELES — Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Steven Stratton of Wenner-Davis & Associates was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a national insurance professional organization.
Stratton was awarded a certificate marking more than 15 years of participation as a designated CIC, which requires annual completion of advanced education and training.
The society is a not-for-profit organization of the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
