BRINNON — Will parts of the Boy Scouts’ Camp Parsons on Pulali Point be logged?
A group of Pulali Point property owners expect a decision Oct. 7 on their request for a stay filed with a state Department of Natural Resources appeals board that would block the Boy Scouts’ Chief Seattle Council from the controversial logging.
The DNR’s Forest Practices Appeals Board hearing is set for Oct. 2 in Seattle on the stay, which was requested by the Pulali Point Property Owners Association and the Better Brinnon Coalition.
The request seeks to stop the Boy Scout council’s proposed logging of 55,000 board-feet at the popular Boy Scout camp on Hood Canal near Brinnon.
The property owners, who contend the logging will harm their ground water and drainage around their homes, appealed the logging plans Sept. 16.
