Arrests by Border Patrol agents in the two-week period ending Jan. 30 included two Mexican nationals apprehended near Forks.
Border Patrol agents made the arrests Jan. 21 after a traffic-stop request for assistance from a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a Quinault Tribal Police Department officer, according to weekly arrest reports assembled by the agency’s Blaine Sector, which includes Alaska, Oregon and the western half of Washington.
The reports show 16 foreign nationals were apprehended by Border Patrol agents in two weeks of Blaine Sector arrests.
The Border Patrol does not issue a complete report.
Reports are always limited to one page regardless of how many arrests are made and do not include the genders of those arrested or any arrests made that result in ongoing investigations.
All but one of the apprehensions in the latest report resulted in people being processed for removal from the United States.
The arrests near Forks involved people who “freely admitted” to being in the U.S. illegally “but not before first presenting false permanent resident cards,” according to the Border Patrol report.
An immigration detainer was placed on one of the Mexican nationals, who was arrested by local law enforcement on an active warrant.
The other person was arrested by Border Patrol agents and processed for removal from the U.S.
