PORT ANGELES — Grant applications for the Peninsula Home Fund, administered by the Olympic View Community Foundation, are due this week.
Olympic View Community Foundation (OVCF) is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations with established service programs to distribute funds effectively and make a meaningful community impact.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) and application guidelines are available on the OVCF website at https://ov-cf.org/phf-grantmaking. Applications must be submitted via email to grants@ov-cf.org by midnight on May 31.
“The Peninsula Home Fund exemplifies the compassion and resilience of our community,” said Jessica Elliott, executive director of OVCF. “By partnering with local nonprofits, we can ensure that these resources reach individuals and families who need them most, empowering them to overcome challenges and regain stability.”
Nonprofits serving Clallam and Jefferson counties are encouraged to apply if their programs address transportation costs, work-related expenses, housing assistance, basic necessities or urgent healthcare needs.
Grant awards will be announced on July 3, and selected organizations will distribute funds through their programs to directly support community members in need.
Selected organizations will be required to submit grant reports in the fall.
Since Peninsula Daily News established the Peninsula Home Fund in 1989, it has raised more than $4.93 million to provide a “hand up, not a handout” to those in need.
In the past, donations had been directed to Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP). Now the fund is being managed by OVCF, which will partner with local nonprofit organizations that have existing programs and vetting systems in place and can use their established expertise to efficiently allocate funds to where they’re most needed.
