Wreaths across America ceremonies scheduled

Daughters of the American Revolution to host

SEQUIM — The Michael Trebert chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will host a wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The ceremony is at the Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way.

The ceremony will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by the placement of wreaths on the headstones of military veterans.

Honored guests will include Cmdr. Joan Snaith, USCG; Sgt. Nancy Zimmerman, USA; Lance Cpl. Holly Rowan, USMC; retired Cmdr. Lorri Gilchrist, USN; retired Lt. Col. Susan Sorenson, USAF; Lt. Carolyn Mahoney, USCG; Officer Russel Hammond, USMM; retired Officer Bob Barbee, USMM; and retired Col. Joey Lazzaro, USAF.

Public ceremonies are also set for:

• Dungeness Cemetery, 2153 Lotzgesell Road, at noon.

• Gardiner Community Cemetry, 137 Gardiner Cemetery Road, at noon.

• Blue Mountain Cemetery, 1494 Blue Mountain Road, Port Angeles, at 9 a.m.

Private ceremonies are planned for the Zacardo Family Cemetery and the Jamestown Tribal Cemetery.

The chapter will also place wreaths at Pioneer Park, St. Lukes Columbarium, Sequim Museum and Arts Center and, in Port Angeles, at the Northwest Veterans Resource Center.
