WEEKEND: Buddhist teacher to offer lectures

Tibetan Buddhist teacher Orgyen Zang Shod Dorje will offer lectures in Sequim and Port Townsend this weekend.

Tonight, Zang Shod will speak on the role of generosity in creating wealth during a presentation from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

On Saturday, he will talk on generosity and wealth at the Port Townsend Dharma Center, 5612 Gise St., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

On Sunday, he will present “Transcendent Action in Modern Life, The Essence of all Dharmas” at the dharma center, also from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Zang Shod is a teacher of the Dzogchen Longchen Nyingthig lineage of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, who is based in Eugene, Ore.

A donation of $15 is requested for events.

The playground equipment was reopened on Monday after being closed by the Port Angeles Parks Department in September 2022 after numerous tiles on the play surface became dislodged, creating a trip hazard for playground users. Delays ensued acquiring specialized glue and replacement tiles while waiting for adequate weather to complete the project.
