PORT TOWNSEND — The 73rd annual Rhododendron Festival will flower into its most showy blossoms this weekend.
Two parades and a bed race will fill the uptown and downtown streets with floats, marching bands, car clubs, children, and wildly decorated beds.
That’s not all that’s going on this weekend.

The first of the festival’s community oriented parades — the pet parade — was on Thursday, offering not only the usual dogs and cats, but also turtles and hedgehogs.
