FORKS — In a town that measures annual rainfall by the foot instead of the inch, what better celebration than Rainfest?
The annual community party brings together the best of the arts in Forks, said Pat Soderlind, city events coordinator.
But she said not to expect too much to be falling from the sky this weekend — the town which gets 11 feet of rain a year isn’t expecting to be get very wet this weekend.
Most recent forecasts call for less than one-tenth of an inch each day.
The rain gauge at the Forks Chamber Visitor Center — built by director Mike Gurling — already shows that 3 feet-2.52 inches of rain have fallen in Forks this year.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Art Reigns,” and it is sponsored by the West Olympic Council for the Arts.
