Green thumb award given

The Port Angeles Garden Club has awarded its summer Green Thumb award to Rudy and April Hiener.

The Heiners received the award for excellence in landscaping at their 1230 E. Second St. residence.

The garden club selects a residential garden for its Green Thumb Award in spring, summer and fall.

To be considered, the garden must be planted and maintained by the homeowner without professional landscaping.
