LETTER:Well-organized clinic

The smooth and orderly management of our first COVID vaccination clinic here in Port Angeles was obviously the result of masterful planning, especially envisioning how to handle a large flow of patients.

It appeared that every contingency had been planned for.

There were clear traffic directions.

Car parking spaces were organized based on appointment times.

Dozens of ever-present helpful yellow-vested volunteers of all ages were ready to help.

There were well placed check-in stations and sign-in posts.

The after-shot 15-minute recovery areas had clear timing markers.

It was easy to make appointments for the follow-up shot.

There was demarcation of social distancing spaces and with available chairs.

And the facility was totally accessible.

This was a role model for the best of a public health response to giving mass inoculations.

Especially as we see the chaos and congestion in many other state and national locations, we owe Clallam County Public Health, North Olympic Health Network, and the medical staff and generous volunteers our most heartfelt gratitude.
