There are not two sides to this war.
Hamas, who was voted in by the Palestinians, started this war by committing some of the worst atrocities in history.
I feel sorry for the civilians in Gaza.
I felt sorry for the civilians in Japan, who suffered for the decisions their government made, leading up to Pearl Harbor.
I felt sorry for the civilians in Germany, who suffered for the decisions made by their Nazi rulers, as they invaded most of Europe.
History shows us that ruthless leadership visits destruction on the population.
I have been shocked by the demonstrations in favor of the Palestinians, and Hamas.
Some of the rhetoric is reminiscent of the Kristallnacht in Germany.
The demonstrations on college campuses are particularly grotesque.
Either they don’t know, or choose to ignore the history of the region.
This war should not let up until all the hostages are returned, and Hamas is dismembered.
Then, and only then, should there be negotiations.
