LETTER:Bookkeeper program

I was not surprised to see the number of applicants for the new grant-funded program administered by the Clallam Economic Development Council to train bookkeepers.

The need for bookkeepers has been an issue for a very long time.

My firm gets two to three phone calls a week begging us to take on clients who have bookkeeping needs.

There are just not enough bookkeepers and the demand has been high for a very, very long time.

This fast-growing industry is an amazing opportunity for folks who want to become entrepreneurs or go into the bookkeeping and accounting industry.

There is always a demand.

With today’s technology, you can work remotely with any industry or have a business of your own and work with clients in any state.

I am excited to see this program get off the ground and hopefully continue in the future to fill this void.
