LETTER: The Better Care Reconciliation Act is not a healthcare bill; it’s a tax cut bill.

The Better Care Reconciliation Act is not a healthcare bill.

It’s a tax cut bill.

By decreasing federal spending on health care to working people, pregnant women, children and the disabled, Republicans can then pass the bill they are really angling for: an even bigger tax reform bill with most of the benefits going to folks who really don’t need them.

By first cutting billions from Medicaid, the Republicans would only need 50 Republican senators plus the vice president to next pass the tax reform bill that is their true goal.

And don’t fall for any mumbo-jumbo about how a repeal-and-replace bill will lower premiums.

You’ve heard the expression: “You can’t get something for nothing.”

But have you ever heard of a for-profit insurance company lowering premiums?

And providing better care?

Utter nonsense.

Fix the Affordable Care Act.

And if you really want to cut costs and get more ask lawmakers to pass the Improved Medicare (pays 100 percent of covered benefits not 80 percent) for All Act (Congressional H.R. 676), AKA: single payer.

Seems to work for other countries.

So if you have friends or family in states with Republican senators have them call 202-224-3121 and tell them to vote “no” on their repeal and replace bill.
