LETTER: Jefferson County needs Jon Cooke for commissioner

I’m voting for Jon Cooke who is running for Jefferson County commissioner.

I like Cooke and am a conservative. Like Jon, I do not vote down the party line.

I vote for people I believe will do a good job regardless of party.

Jon is informed on the issues facing our county (no jobs).

He will work to help with this problem to help keep our young people and families from leaving to find work and this will help to keep our schools full.

Jefferson County has been Democratic for the last 25 years and it’s time for a change.

We need a conservative Republican like Jon Cooke to help us with new growth, economic and population growth and new jobs.

He will keep our young people with families here working in our communities to help become a more viable and good working county.

We need affordable housing and jobs for our young people who want to work and reside here in this county, instead of leaving to look for work in the big cities.

This is where we lose the benefits of good people that would normally thrive and live in this county and make it grow.

Jon Cooke is our man — he has the education, credentials and the foresight to accomplish this for Jefferson County.

Susan Stratton,
