Graden Kubas, 16, of Sequim, scratches the back of his Hereford steer, Hammer, that he plans to exhibit in the Fitting and Showing category of the Jefferson County Fair in Port Townsend on Saturday. Kubas, a member of FFA, raised the steer from about 1 week old to its present age of 16 months and weighs about 1,000 to 1,300 pounds.
