Spiritual Tarot classes offered

PORT TOWNSEND — The Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center is offering a six-week Spiritual Tarot series with Rev. Pamela Douglas-Smith.

The classes will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays starting July 20 and running through Aug. 24 in Unity’s Hearth Room at 3918 San Juan Ave., Port Townsend.

Each class is $20 if purchased individually, or $100 for the entire series.

Registration will be limited to the first 26 enrollees. To register, go to the Unity website at www.unitypt.org , send an email to info@unitypt.org or call 360-385-6519.

Spiritual Tarot will include presentations, activities, handouts, slide shows and experiential encounters, organizers said.

Douglas-Smith, who comes from a line of Celtic card-reading women, was given her first Tarot deck when she was 18 years old and has studied it ever since along with metaphysical Christianity, the grail mysteries, the Path of Mary Magdalene, the Cathars and Jungian psychology.

“Rev. Pam’s approach stresses the spirituality of Tarot and how to use its universal symbols to unlock the mysteries of our soul journeys,” organizers said in a press release.

“She will approach this series as a spiritual pilgrimage while weaving knowledge, wisdom, experience and humor to make Tarot interesting and insightful.”

Here is the schedule:

• July 20, Introduction to Basics and Tarot Decks.

• July 27, Major Arcana as Soul Journey.

• Aug. 3, Minor Arcana as Embodied Life.

• Aug. 10, Court Cards and Tarot as Catechism.

• Aug. 17, More Readings, Spreads & Life Soul Card.

• Aug. 24, Specialty Spreads and Window to Spirit.
