SEQUIM— Images of contrast between long summer days and long winter nights will be on display at Solstice, an exhibit in a variety of mediums at the Sequim Civic Center.
The exhibit, hosted by the Sequim City Arts Advisory Commission at the Karen Kusnek-Reese Gallery at the center at 152 W. Cedar St., will open Friday with a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It will be on display through Jan. 2.
Regular gallery hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The arts commission received 23 entries and selected 21 pieces for the exhibit.
Many of the participating artists are new to exhibiting their work in a gallery, so this will be a showcase of the talents of both professional and amateur artists from the region.
During the opening reception, the arts commission also will host an Open Music Jam at the center.
Residents and visitors are invited to bring their musical instruments and voices and participate in the open jam session.
