PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Peninsula Authors will conduct an ekphrastic poetry reading from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
The reading will be in the courtyard at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Organizers request that attendees RSVP for the free event at www.pafac.org/rsvp-ekphrastic-poetry.
The poets have created original works in response to the center’s current exhibition, “Hidden World: Jennifer Angus.”
Hidden World is an immersive exhibit of Victorian-style patterns created with preserved insects.
“We are so grateful for this partnership with the Olympic Peninsula Authors,” said Rachel Storck, the center’s associate director of operations. “They bring a passion for the art of poetry that always enhances our spaces. I can’t wait to hear what the poets create in response to this whimsical and visceral exhibition — I expect imaginations to run wild.”
