Inaugural WA Local Concert sells out

PORT ANGELES — The Field Arts & Events Hall’s inaugural WA Local Concert sold out.

The WA Local Concert series, part of the #FieldHallforAll mission, aims to highlight local musicians at an affordable price, said Steve Raider-Ginsburg, executive director, in a press release.

The concert on Sept. 29, which featured the Randall Wolf Band and Deadwood Revival, sold out completely.

“We are thrilled with the incredible turnout for Friday’s show and deeply appreciative of our community for supporting these talented local performers,” said Kayla Oakes, director of education and artistic engagement at Field Hall.

“The way our hometown came together to celebrate this event was inspiring,” said a representative for The Randall Wolf Band.

“Deadwood Revival set a tone for the room that was easy to vibe with. Our very own Jeremiah Turner got to play some mandolin with them, too. The Field Hall team was incredibly supportive and accommodating.

“Looking out at the 500-seat Donna M. Morris Theater, we saw smiles and boogie from old friends and brand-new faces.”

The next WA Local Concert is scheduled for Oct. 21, featuring the Olympic Express Big Band. The ensemble previously performed during the Free Community Days Celebration on July 22-23.

Tickets for the Oct. 21 concert are available on a “pay what makes you happy” basis, with options starting at just $10. Tickets are available now at www.fieldhallevents.org/tickets

The Olympic Express Big Band was founded in 2008 with the vision of assembling the finest musicians from the Olympic Peninsula. The band, consisting of a 17-piece ensemble and vocalist, takes on arrangements encompassing a wide range of musical styles, from Big Band Swing to rock & roll, jazz and Motown.
