Duo featured at Concerts in the Woods

COYLE — The acoustic duo of songwriter and guitarist Dan Sherrill and singer Jacqui Aubert will perform at Concerts in the Woods at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The matinee featuring Hollis Peach will be in the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center at 923 Hazel Point Road.

Admission is by donation. Sunday’s all-ages concert will offer complimentary cookies and coffee at intermission.

The two musicians performed in Coyle in October 2014 as part of the folk orchestra Patchy Sanders, said series organizer Norm Johnson.

“I was stunned with their style of creative song writing and their dynamic, all-acoustic sound,” Johnson said. “So I was pleased to learn they had reformed as a duo called Hollis Peach.”

The duo draws from such diverse influences as John Hartford, Joanna Newsom, Pete Seeger, Jim Henson and Townes Van Zandt, according to the website at www.hollispeach.com.

The two are on tour now to promote their debut release, “Sometimes We Feel the Same.”
