Community Players to roll out new season

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Community Players will roll out their 2022-2023 Main Stage Season on Sunday.

The annual meeting, capped by a performance of Act III of Neil Simon’s comic farce, “Plaza Suite,” will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the back parking lot of the theater at 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd. in Port Angeles.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to bring their own folding chairs to sit on and sunscreen is suggested.

New board members for the year will be introduced. The stage director of each of the upcoming shows will give brief presentations. And there will be a recap of some of the major accomplishments at the theater this past year.

After a brief intermission with light refreshments will be the performance of Act III of the play that was part of the first season when the Playhouse Theatre building was newly opened 50 years ago in 1972.

The Port Angeles Community Players are celebrating their 70th season as a theater company and will be going into their 301st Main Stage production with “Deathtrap,” which opens mid-September.

At the Sunday meeting, there will be a special prize drawing for a professional portrait photography session on the set of “Deathtrap.”
