PORT ANGELES — Students, parents, families, staff and community stakeholders are invited to attend a forum Tuesday on the 2023-2024 Port Angeles School District budget hosted by Superintendent Marty Brewer and director of finance Kira Acker.
The event at Jefferson Elementary gym, 218 E 12th St., will start at 7 p.m. It also will be available to view on YouTube: tinyurl.com/ydyca5u2.
A quorum of school board members will attend; no action is to be taken.
The district is preparing for workforce and staff reductions as it faces a $5.6 million deficit. Brewer and Acker developed a preliminary budget that will be amended as soon as the district knows its allocation from the state when the Legislative sessions ends April 23.
Brewer and Acker will present the budget to the school board for approval at its next regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lincoln Center administrative offices, 905 W. Ninth St.
