August trial set for robbery suspect

Not guilty plea entered for felony charges from Frugal’s incident

PORT ANGELES — At his arraignment Thursday in Clallam County Superior Court, Anthony Lewis Reynolds pleaded not guilty to seven counts related to a Dec. 5, 2024 robbery at Frugals, 1520 E. Front St.

His arraignment was moved from June 27, when Seth Doherty, the public defender assigned to his case, said he had a conflict of interest.

Reynolds was represented on Thursday by attorney Lane Wolfley.

Judge Elizabeth Stanley set a status conference for Reynolds on Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. and trial date for Aug. 25.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Matthew Roberson estimated the trial would take between three and four days, saying there was a significant amount of digital evidence to review.

Reynolds, 36, is charged with five Class A felonies: two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count of first-degree burglary; a Class B felony of motor vehicle theft, and second-degree theft, a Class C felony.

He and a second suspect, Burton C.B. “Bill” Brown, 59, are accused of forcing two Frugals employees at gun point to open a safe from which they stole $4,950.

They then allegedly stole one of the employee’s vehicles and used it as a getaway car.

Reynolds was booked into Clallam County Jail on June 21 and bail was set at $200,000.

Brown remains at large.

Police ask that anyone who has information on his whereabouts call 360-452-4545.
