PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center recognized six patient experience champions at a recent board of commissioners meeting.
According to a press release, patient experience champions were nominated by their peers for “communicating with courtesy, compassion and respect, empowering patients to learn or cope effectively, contributing to new programs, improving processes and/or going above and beyond to serve the needs of patients and their families.”
The staff members recognized were: Charlotta “Lotta” Pearl, registered nurse, Operating Room/Surgery; Mikel Townsley, patient navigator, Olympic Medical Cancer Center; Holly Heustis, clinic supervisor, Olympic Medical Physicians Primary Care; Christy Resser, registered nurse, Intensive Care Unit; Lisa Glynn, patient access representative, Patient Access Services; and Dr. Mark Fischer, hospitalist, Olympic Medical Physicians Specialty Clinic.
