PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare was designated a LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
The designation came in the foundations 15th Healthcare Equality Index and marks the ninth consecutive year that Jefferson Healthcare has earned the designation.
The index evaluates health care facilities in the areas of foundational policies and training in LGBTQ+ patient-centered care; LGBTQ+ patient services and support; employee benefits and policies; and patient and community engagement.
Of the 906 facilities that participated in the 2022 survey, 496 were awarded the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader designation.
Jefferson Healthcare was the only facility on the Olympic and Kitsap peninsulas to earn the designation, according to a press release.
