Restoration of a beach at Fort Townsend, slated for completion this week, will provide easier access for both residents and wildlife.
The plan is for the building to be renovated into the predominate structure in a group of at least nine buildings that will be called Makers Square. It would house workshop, classroom and studio spaces.
Adequate housing for residents of all income groups, including sufficient housing affordable for low-and moderate-income groups, is among the goals of proposed revisions to the city’s 2016-36 Comprehensive Plan.
About 400 emaciated birds have washed ashore on beaches west of Port Angeles, near Victoria, and as far east as Whidbey Island since May.
