FROM CAPTAIN JAMIE MASON at Port Angeles Fire Department:

“On Thursday, Aug. 20, he Port Angeles Fire Department and Clallam County Fire District No. 2 responded to a mobilization request from the state of Washington and sent an engine with four firefighters to [the wildfires in the Twisp-area of] Okanogan County.

“Port Angeles Fire Department sent an engine and three career firefighters: Lt. Kelly Ziegler, FF/EMT Pete Sekac and FF/PM John Hall.

“FF/EMT Katie Babcock from Clallam County Fire District No. 2 filled out the team.

“Clallam County Fire District No. 2 also is providing a backup engine to the Port Angeles Fire Department.

“The moblllzation request indicated that the deployment could last as long as two weeks.”
